Metro East Announces New Collinsville Garage Doors Available

Metro East just issued a statement their Collinsville garage doors product line has been updated along with an expanded maintenance program. The company, which serves various areas in IL, says the move is in line with their vision to serve more customers and clients in the vicinity.

“Our O'Fallon IL garage door openers and garage door services have earned the trust of our clients because we put emphasis on quality,” Metro East says in an interview. “We know our clients and customers expect only the best which is why we have expanded our product and service line.”

For the past several years, homes in and around IL had come to realize the importance of having their garage doors properly maintained. Garage doors that lack proper maintenance are noisy and don’t operate smoothly, and as Metro East points the situation will get worse if the doors are not maintained regularly.

“Garage doors need proper maintenance otherwise it’s going to deteriorate,” Metro East says. “Our servicemen are trained in all kinds of garage door repair and maintenance, and if necessary we can install a new one as well. Having your garage door break down at the most inopportune is never good, and a neglected garage door can even cause an accident, but our team can handle that.”

While more and more homeowners are now having their Collinsville garage door springs and doors inspected, there are still those who are hesitant and think it’s too expensive and impractical, something Metro East disputes.

“Our maintenance services are affordable and reliable,” Metro East continues. “Furthermore, our services include replacing of parts if necessary and installation of new ones. Our maintenance program also comes with a thorough top to bottom inspection of the door and we will make all the adjustments necessary to get your garage door working again.”

How to Keep the Garage Door In Good Condition

You may not realize it but the largest moving part of your home is the garage door. You use it at least twice a day, at any given hour and in all seasons. Because of the regular movement that it goes through, a garage door can be susceptible to wear and tear. Here are some preventive maintenance ways that you can do on your garage door:
1. Conduct regular inspections
Make it a habit to check the garage door every now and then. Observe it in action every time you use the garage door. Does it move smoothly? Does it operate silently? Are there grinding or scraping noises?
While you’re at it, take a look at the hardware. Tighten roller brackets and bolts using a socket wrench.
2. Check the door balance
An improperly balanced garage door can affect the door opener as it would have to work harder. Hence, the latter won’t last as long as you hope it would. Disconnect the opener by pulling the release handle and then manually move the door halfway up. If the door opener doesn’t stay put, then this means that the counterweight system is improperly balanced. Adjustment of the garage door spring, however, is not a DIY project and should be left to the professionals.
If you are in the Illinois region, you can contact O’Fallon garage door springs and even Belleville garage door springs specialists who can do the job for you.
3. Check/replace weather striping
Check if the rubber weather seal strip located on the bottom of the door is cracked or brittle. If it is, then replace it right away so as to keep the elements out of your garage. You can buy weatherstripping at hardware and home improvement outlets. Cut to size and insert into the grooves. The wide angle of the flange should be inside the door.
4. Groom the Garage Door
Examine the door itself. If you have a wood door, check for water damage and warp, and even chipped and peeling paint. If you have a steel door, there may be rusty spots that should be primed and painted. You should also make it a habit to wash the garage door regularly. Do this every time you wash your car.
Like in the adjustment of the door spring, there are some jobs that you will have to leave to the professionals. Contact Collinsville garage door openers specialists if you want a person who’s more knowledgeable and skilled to inspect and repair your garage door.
